What is Maslak-e-Alahazrat?

Transcript of a speech by Taajush Shariah Allāma Akhtar Raza Khan Qādri Azhari Qiblah (Alayhir Rahmah)

“Alahazrat has never, ever brought about any innovation in any religion, in any capacity. He has been rewarded by Allāh Ta’ālā and His Holy Prophet ﷺ for his commitment to serving Islam and reforming the practice of our Rasool ﷺ (bringing back within the framework of Sharia). As a result, the proper Din (religion) of Allah was introduced by Alahazrat and became known as Maslak-e-Alahazrat, which is nothing but Maslak-e-Ahle Sunnat wa Jamā’ah. There is not enough time to cover his teachings at length, but I can summarize all his thoughts and teachings in a few stanzas of his poems that reflect the true Imān and the true faith of a sincere Muslim according to the Holy Prophet ﷺ. He says:

‘Allah Ki Sar Ta Baa Qadam Shaan Hain Yeh,
Insaa Nahin Insaan, Woh Insaan Hain Yeh,
Quran To Imān Batata Hai Inhein,
Imān Yeh Kahta Hai Meri Jaan Hain Yeh’

I have come to explain what Alahazrat says, pointing to his reverent and highly respected Rasool ﷺ. He is the Glory and Jalwa of Allah, from head to toe. He is one of those men that no one else exists. In addition, I must say that the above-mentioned quatrain of Alahazrat also includes another devotion which has not been discussed, but which has been understood, namely, ‘Aqā’id-e-Hāzir-o-Nāzir’. This can be explained as meaning that our Prophet (peace be upon him)  is present everywhere and observes everyone with his wisdom and insight. Therefore, during the namāz, the Muslim is taught to consider himself in the presence of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and to say out of respect ‘As Salam-0-Alaika Yā Ayyuhan Nabi, Wa Rahmatullāhi-E-Wa-Barakātuhu’.

If the Muslim is unable to see his beloved Rasool ﷺ , then he must believe that his Prophet is alive and watching his actions and the condition of his heart, wherever he is in the world. In this way, Alahazrat has guided the Muslims how to believe in the Holy Prophet ﷺ What is the right belief regarding respecting the Holy Prophet? A person can make himself see through his Aqīda, that Muhammad ﷺ is unparalleled, unique, and matchless and that no one in all creation is equal to him. The Holy Qur’an commands the people to believe in the Holy Prophet ﷺ and calls him Iman, but Imān testifies that the Holy Prophet ﷺ is my spirit. This is not only the teaching of Alahazrat, but also the teaching of Kalimah and it is the voice of every Muslim heart. Now you know who the real Muslim is. There is no other “real” Muslim than the Ahle Sunnat wa Jamā’ah. With this relationship, I would like to quote a few verses from Hazrat Hasan Sādiq (radi Allāhu anhu), the famous poet from the initial stages of Islam. The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to prepare the pulpit for him and often order him to stand on it and talk to the respectful Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ about the good news of ‘Ruhool Qudus’ Hazrat Jibra’il (alayhis salām). The poet said of the Holy Prophet: “Never has an eye witnessed anything more glorious than You, women have never before given birth to a child holier than You, You were created free from all lamaments, You seem to have been created as You wished.” Everyone can know from the above words that Alahazrat is not alone in acknowledging the Holy Prophet with his faith. This has been proven to be the right way to believe in the Holy Prophet and the belief of the Ahle Sunnat wa Jamā’ah comes from the Companions of the Prophet. Therefore, Alahazrat says:

‘Ahle Sunnat Ka Hai Bera Paar, Ashāba Huzoor Najm Hai,
Aur Nau Hai Itrat Rasool Allah Ki.’

This proverb is derived from a Hadith in which the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him  ) compared his companions to the stars in the sky who illuminated his defendants with the boat of Hazrat Nooh (alayhis salām).

Meanwhile, there are some people who try to misrepresent Islam. They are trying to deceive Muslims of the spirit of Islam. For example, they say: ‘Muhammad ﷺ is just like the other men’. Unfortunately, they try to justify their mistakes with the Holy Qur’an (para 16) ‘Say: You, apparently in outward appearance of a man, I am just like You, I receive revelations that Your Allah is One’. Allah commands His Holy Prophet in this verse to remain humble, ostensibly that he is like others. At the same time, the things that make him different from humanity are clarified.

It is a very indifferent attitude towards the respected Rasool ﷺ. They believe only part of this verse, meanwhile they do not believe the other part “I receive revelations.” Surah Al-Kahf

The revelations come to me, that is why Allah says about such people, ‘They believe in some parts of the Divine Qur’ān and do not believe in other parts, while Allah declares that Sunnis who attained the unerring knowledge, ‘Say: We believe in the whole Book, every verse is from our Allah, Almighty Allah’.

Anyone can know from these verses that the revelation to the Prophet (peace be upon him) differs  greatly in the eyes, ears, and hearts of the people. Therefore, the Prophet ﷺ declares: ‘My eyes sleep, but my heart does not’. By this statement we know that the Prophet is not like other people. Ulema say: “Prophets are placed among men with the ostensible civility, but outwardly with their real status they are classified with the angels. Therefore, they observe the earth and briefly from the East to the West, they hear the sky crack and smell the fragrance of Hazrat Jibra’il (alayhis salām).

Our Holy Prophet says, ‘I see what you cannot see, and I hear what you cannot hear’.

It is very briefly what I have explained and conclude with the words: ‘May Allah accept us and may Allah bless us all to stay on the Straight Path with profound respect for His Holy Prophet ﷺ, and everything belongs to him. May Allah protect us and keep us aloof from the company of the deceived people.” Amien!”
